Gavin Green Suspended for Three Months by DP World Tour for Doping Violation

Gavin Green has been retrospectively suspended by the DP World Tour for three months due to a doping violation at the end of last year.

The DP World Tour has announced that Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has been suspended for three months following a doping violation detected during an end-of-season test in 2025.

Prohibited Herbal Supplement Detected

According to the European Tour Group, Green tested positive for a banned substance found in a herbal supplement he consumed as part of a medical treatment. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated and did not intentionally take the banned substance. However, the DP World Tour’s anti-doping rules apply, resulting in his suspension.

Retroactive Suspension Details

Gavin Green’s three-month suspension is retroactive, effective from December 5, 2025. He will be eligible to compete again starting with the Joburg Open on March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was disqualified retrospectively from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, where the doping test took place.

The European Tour Group announced they will not provide further comments and that Green has accepted the suspension.

First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit

After a successful amateur career in Asia, Green turned professional in 2015 and achieved several notable results. His greatest career success came in 2017 on the Asian Tour when he won the Order of Merit, becoming the first Malaysian ever to do so. On the DP World Tour, Green has achieved three second-place and two third-place finishes so far.
