Gavin Green Suspended 3 Months by DP World Tour for Doping Violation

Gavin Green has been retroactively suspended for three months by the DP World Tour due to a doping violation at the end of last year.

The DP World Tour announced that Malaysian golfer Gavin Green has been suspended for three months following a doping violation detected during a doping test at the end of the 2025 season.

Forbidden Herbal Supplements Detected

According to the European Tour Group, a prohibited substance was found in Green’s system, which he ingested through a herbal supplement taken as part of medical treatment. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated with the DP World Tour and did not intentionally take the banned substance. However, DP World Tour anti-doping rules apply, resulting in the suspension.

Gavin Green Receives Retroactive Suspension

Gavin Green’s doping violation carries a retroactive three-month ban, effective from December 5, 2025. He will be eligible to compete again starting with the Joburg Open on March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was retrospectively disqualified from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, where the doping test was administered.

The European Tour Group announced they will make no further comments on the suspension and confirmed that Green has accepted the penalty.

First Malaysian to Win Asian Tour Order of Merit

After several successful years as an amateur in Asia, Green turned professional in 2015, achieving notable results. His career highlights include winning the Asian Tour Order of Merit in 2017, making him the first Malaysian to do so. On the DP World Tour, he has secured three second-place and two third-place finishes to date.
