Prohibited Herbal Supplement Detected
According to the European Tour Group, Green tested positive for a banned substance that he ingested as part of medical treatment in a herbal supplement. The Tour stated that Green fully cooperated with the DP World Tour and did not intentionally take the substance. However, DP World Tour rules regarding anti-doping violations apply, resulting in his suspension.
Gavin Green Receives Retroactive Suspension
Green’s three-month retroactive suspension took effect from December 5, 2025, making him eligible to compete again starting from the Joburg Open on March 5, 2026. Additionally, he was disqualified retrospectively from the 2025 Danish Golf Championship, where the doping test took place.
The European Tour Group announced they will not comment further on the suspension and confirmed Green has accepted the penalty.
