Patrick Reed wins Hero Dubai Desert Classic on DP World Tour

Patrick Reed wins in Dubai, Andy Sullivan takes second. DACH players Schneider, von Dellingshausen, Girrbach and Schott finish mid-field.

American Patrick Reed clinched the title at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour, held at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, a gem of the Persian Gulf in the United Arab Emirates. Although Reed couldn’t fully replicate his earlier success on the final day, an even-par round was sufficient for the San Antonio, Texas pro to secure victory.

Mixed Final Day Suffices for Victory

Reed was not flawless on the front nine, recording a bogey, but managed to recover some ground on the back nine. Despite missing two attempts on the 11th green and another bogey, he balanced things out by birdying the 13th hole. Finishing at 14 under par, Reed secured the title comfortably ahead of Frenchman Julien Guerrier, Spaniard David Puig and Englishman Andy Sullivan. His win propelled him in the Race to Dubai from 107th to second place.

DP World Tour: Sullivan Fights for Second Place

Andy Sullivan showed resilience in the final stretch to claim sole second place. The Englishman started the front nine poorly with four bogeys and one birdie but recovered with four birdies on the back nine to shoot a 71. A birdie on the 18th clinched second place, finishing ten strokes behind Reed but maintaining pressure on third-place finishers David Puig and Julien Guerrier. Puig finished the final round with a 73 to match Guerrier at nine under par, with Guerrier improving seven spots after a strong 69.

DACH Players Finish Mid-Field

The four DACH players who made the cut finished in the middle to lower middle of the leaderboard. Marcel Schneider ended with a 74, dropping 14 spots to tie for 33rd with DP World Tour favorite Rory McIlroy, who shot a 73 and fell six places. Nicolai von Dellingshausen finished two under par, also tied 33rd. Freddy Schott and Swiss Joel Girrbach both ended tied for 49th at one over par, each shooting a 74 with identical bogey-birdie balances. Both slightly improved their Race to Dubai rankings, though Schott is currently 103rd in the young season.
