Patrick Reed wins Hero Dubai Desert Classic on DP World Tour

Patrick Reed wins in Dubai, Andy Sullivan secures second place. DACH players Schneider, von Dellingshausen, Girrbach and Schott finish mid-field.

American Patrick Reed clinched the title at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, the jewel of the Persian Gulf in the United Arab Emirates. Despite not matching his earlier rounds on the final day, an even-par round was enough for the San Antonio, Texas pro to secure victory.

Mixed final day enough for victory

On the front nine, Reed wasn’t error-free, carding at least one bogey. Though he made up for a mistake on the 10th hole on the back nine, he lost strokes with two attempts on the 11th green. He missed par by four strokes there and recorded another bogey, which he balanced out on the 13th hole. Finishing 14 under par overall, Reed took the title comfortably ahead of Frenchman Julien Guerrier, Spaniard David Puig, and Englishman Andy Sullivan. The win propelled Reed from 107th to 2nd place in the Race to Dubai.

DP World Tour: Sullivan battles to second place

Andy Sullivan proved resilient in the closing stretches of the final round, securing sole second place. The Englishman had a tough start with four bogeys and just one birdie on the front nine. However, he recovered with four birdies on the back nine, finishing with a 71. His birdie on the 18th hole clinched the runner-up spot. Sullivan ended ten shots under par but remained under pressure from third-place finishers David Puig and Julien Guerrier until the end.

David Puig finished the final round with a 73 and tied with Julien Guerrier at nine under par total. Guerrier improved seven places on the leaderboard thanks to a strong 69 in the finale.
