Marcel Schneider delivers near-flawless performance on DP World Tour

The third round of the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour featured four remaining German-speaking players. Marcel Schneider particularly impressed on Moving Day in Dubai. The German posted a nearly flawless round, climbing the leaderboard early. Three birdies on the front nine set the tone for his strong performance. His excellent short game was especially effective. Two additional birdies contrasted with a lone bogey on the 17th hole. With a round of -4, Schneider positions himself inside the top 20 ahead of the final day, contending for top placements.

Patrick Reed extends lead ahead of final day

At the top, Patrick Reed managed to break away. After a mixed front nine, the American added three birdies on the back nine with no mistakes. He finished with a -5 round and holds a total of -14, leading by four strokes going into the final round.

\”It’s always exciting to start Sunday with the lead. We’re all playing for the chance to win on Sunday. I know it won’t be easy; it never is, no matter the size of the lead,\” Reed said.

Direct chaser David Puig recorded a strong -6 round on Saturday with only one bogey and seven birdies, sitting at -10 after three rounds. Viktor Hovland also impressed with a bogey-free round containing seven birdies, placing tied for third at -9 alongside Andy Sullivan ahead of the final round.

Three more German-speaking players in top 50 after strong back nines

Behind Schneider, three more German-speaking players positioned themselves inside the top 50 before the final day. Nicolai von Dellingshausen, Freddy Schott, and Joel Girrbach are all tied at -1.
