Schott Challenges for Top Spot on DP World Tour Moving Day in Bahrain
Freddy Schott battled on day three of the DP World Tour in Bahrain to claim the lead before the final day. With a flawless front nine including four birdies, he early took the lead from frontrunner Calum Hill. Hill lost his two-stroke advantage quickly after three bogeys and just one birdie over the first six holes. Schott matched him with birdies on holes 3 and 5, extending his lead with more precise shots and solid putts on holes 8 and 9.

However, Schott faltered with bogeys on holes 12 and 13. Tied again with Hill, both players birdied the 14th, reaching a temporary total of -15. Hill regained the lead with another birdie on 15, while Schott could not counter effectively and recorded a unfortunate bogey on 18. Hill heads into the final day with a two-stroke lead at -16, Schott at -14.
After the round, the German said, ‘I’m a bit disappointed about the three-putt on the last hole, but it was a good day. We are just doing what we have been doing so far. I thought it might take a couple of days to catch him. He had some trouble on the first holes and suddenly we were tied. I still have the plan to catch him tomorrow and am looking forward to it. It would be great if it works out, but it is too early to think about it.’
