Schott Fights for Top Spot on Moving Day of DP World Tour in Bahrain
Freddy Schott fought for the lead on day three of the DP World Tour in Bahrain ahead of the final day. With a flawless front nine and four birdies, he took the lead from early leader Calum Hill. Hill lost his two-stroke lead quickly with three bogeys and only one birdie in the first six holes. Schott caught up with birdies on holes 3 and 5 and extended his lead with further successes on 8 and 9 through precise approach shots and solid putting.

Calum Hill regained the lead with another birdie on 15, while Schott could no longer mount a decisive attack and recorded an unfortunate bogey on the 18th. Thus, Hill enters the final day with a two-stroke lead (-16) over Schott (-14).
After the round, Schott said: \”I’m a little disappointed about the three-putt on the last hole, but it was a good day. We’re just doing what we’ve done so far. I thought it might be a matter of two days to catch him (Hill). He had some problems in the first holes and suddenly we were tied. I’m still following the plan to catch him tomorrow and looking forward to it. It would be great if that works out, but it’s still a bit early to think about it.\”
International Contenders Increase the Pressure
Close behind Hill and Schott are international contenders, including last week’s winner Patrick Reed. The American, who had announced his departure from LIV Golf before the tournament and his comeback to the PGA Tour in the summer, started the third round in fiery fashion.
