Schott fights for the top spot on the DP World Tour moving day in Bahrain

Freddy Schott fought for the lead on day three of the DP World Tour in Bahrain ahead of the final day. With flawless play on the front nine and four birdies, he took the lead early from the leader Calum Hill. Hill, struggling with three bogeys and just one birdie on the first six holes, quickly lost his two-stroke lead. Schott initially caught up with birdies on holes 3 and 5 and extended his lead with precise approach shots and solid putts on holes 8 and 9.

However, he took bogeys on holes 12 and 13. Tied with Hill again, both players made birdies at 14, reaching a combined score of -15. Hill regained the lead with a birdie on 15, while Schott failed to mount a decisive challenge and had an unfortunate bogey on the 18th. Hill enters the final day two strokes ahead at -16 compared to Schott’s -14.

After the round, the German said: \”I’m a bit disappointed about the three-putt on the last hole, but it was a good day. We’re just doing what we’ve done so far. I thought it might be a matter of two days to catch him (Hill). He had some troubles early on, and suddenly we were tied. I’m still following the plan to catch him tomorrow and looking forward to it. It would be great if it works out, but it’s still a bit early
