Schott battles for the lead on the DP World Tour moving day in Bahrain

Freddy Schott fought for the lead on day three of the DP World Tour event in Bahrain. With a flawless first nine holes and four birdies, he took the lead early from front-runner Callum Hill, who quickly lost his two-stroke advantage due to three bogeys and just one birdie on the first six holes. Schott first caught up with birdies on holes 3 and 5, then extended his lead with precise shots and safe putts on the 8th and 9th holes.

However, on holes 12 and 13 he had to accept bogeys. Level with Hill again, both players made birdies on the 14th hole, reaching a temporary total score of -15. Hill regained the lead with another birdie on 15, while Schott could no longer make a decisive attack and recorded another unfortunate bogey on 18. Hill goes into the final day two strokes ahead at -16, with Schott at -14.

After the round, Schott said: ‘I am a bit disappointed about the three-putt on the last hole but it was a good day. We are just doing what we have done so far. I thought it might be a matter of two days to catch him (Hill). He had some problems on the first holes and suddenly we were level. I am still following the plan to catch him tomorrow and look forward to it. It would be great if it works out but it
