Freddy Schott fights for the lead ahead of the final day of the DP World Tour in Bahrain. Von Dellingshausen and Girrbach are positioned in the top 20.
Schott Battles for the Lead on the DP World Tour Moving Day in Bahrain
Freddy Schott battled on day three of the DP World Tour in Bahrain for the lead before the final day. With a flawless front nine and four birdies, he took the lead early from Calum Hill. Hill had quickly lost his two-stroke advantage with three bogeys and only one birdie in the first six holes. Schott first leveled the score with birdies on holes 3 and 5, then extended his lead with precise approach shots and safe putts on holes 8 and 9.

However, bogeys on holes 12 and 13 leveled him again with Hill. Both players birdied the 14th for a temporary total of -15. Hill regained the lead with another birdie on the 15th, while Schott was unable to challenge decisively and recorded an unfortunate bogey on the 18th. Hill enters the final day two strokes ahead with a score of -16, while Schott stands at -14.
After the round, the German said, \”I’m a bit disappointed it ended with a three-putt on the last hole, but it was a good day. We’ll keep doing what we’ve done so far. I thought it might take two days to catch him. He had some trouble early, and suddenly we were tied. I still plan to catch him tomorrow and look forward to it. It would be great if it works out, but it’s still early to think about that.\”
International Challengers Increase the Pressure
Right behind Hill and Schott, international competitors, including last week’s winner Patrick Reed, are chasing. The American, who announced his departure from LIV Golf and a return to the PGA Tour this summer before the tournament, started the third round strongly.
Reed opened with a birdie and added three more on the first six holes.
