Freddy Schott delivered another impressive 67 on day two at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour, positioning himself strongly with 12 under par, four strokes ahead of a chasing pack. Leading him is Scotsman Calum Hill, who equaled the course record with a 61. Nicolai Von Dellingshausen also remains in contention at 1 under for the day, sitting 14th and just one stroke behind the main chasing group. Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider missed the cut.
DP World Tour: Freddy Schott’s Second Eagle of the Week
Following an excellent round on Thursday, Freddy Schott aimed to maintain his momentum on Friday and secure a strong weekend position. From the start, he executed well: he birdied the first hole, recovered from a right-leaning drive and rough on the third to another birdie, and added a third birdie on the 9th for -3 on the front nine. On the back nine, Schott birdied the 13th before carding an impressive eagle on the 14th from nearly 7 meters, his second eagle this week. Although he had his first bogey on the 15th and another bogey on 18 after a final birdie on 17, he finished with a 5 under par round to enter the weekend in 2nd place.
