Freddy Schott positioned himself strongly for the weekend with a 67 on the second day of the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour. At 12 under par, he leads a group of chasers by four strokes. However, ahead of him is Scotsman Calum Hill, who set a new course record with a 61. Nicolai Von Dellingshausen finished the day one under par and lies in a promising 14th place, just one stroke behind the leading chase group. Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider missed the cut.
DP World Tour: Freddy Schott’s Second Eagle of the Week
After an excellent round on Thursday, Freddy Schott aimed to maintain his performance on Friday and secure a solid position for the weekend. He started strong with a precise shot beside the hole on the 1st hole to make his first birdie of the day. Despite a drive that veered right and a second shot into the rough on the 3rd hole, Schott skillfully saved his ball and managed to make his second birdie. He added a third birdie on the 9th hole for a -3 on the front nine. On the back nine, he birdied the 13th and executed two perfect shots on the 14th to make his second eagle of the week from about 7 meters. Though he faltered with bogeys on the 15th and 18th holes, he finished the round 5 under par, placing him second going into the weekend.
