At 12 under par, he holds a four-shot lead over the chasing group. Ahead of him is Scotsman Calum Hill, who matched the course record with a 61. DP World Tour: Freddy Schott’s Second Eagle of the Week
Following an impressive opening round on Thursday, Freddy Schott aimed to maintain his strong form on Friday and position himself well for the weekend. He started confidently, making birdie on hole 1 after a precise approach. Despite a drive and second shot finding the rough on hole 3, Schott managed to save par and still secured his second birdie of the day. He added a third birdie on hole 9 to reach 3 under on the front nine. On the back nine, he birdied hole 13, then aced hole 14 with his second eagle of the week from just under 7 meters. While he did drop a bogey on hole 15 and again on the 18th, another birdie on 17 helped him close with a 5 under par 67, placing him second going into the weekend.
Nicolai Von Dellingshausen could not quite match his previous day’s performance, finishing at 1 under par and slipping to 14th place. Starting on the back nine, he played error-free for a stretch, birdieing early holes, but a couple of errant shots and a missed birdie opportunity led to two bogeys. Nevertheless, his total of 7 under par keeps him within striking distance and just one shot behind the chase pack sharing fourth place.
Calum Hill Takes Lead with Course Record Round
Calum Hill delivered a flawless round on Friday, carding eleven birdies without a single dropped shot. His 61, 11 under par, matched the Royal GC Bahrain course record and gave him a four-shot lead heading into the weekend. For the 31-year-old Scotsman, this could be his first victory since the Joburg Open in March 2025.
