DP World Tour: Freddy Schott Holds Strong 2nd Place at Bahrain Championship

Freddy Schott confirms his strong form with a 67, heading into the weekend in 2nd place at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour.

Freddy Schott secured a 67 on the second day of the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour, positioning himself strongly for the weekend. At 12 under par, he leads by four strokes over a chasing group. However, the Scottish player Calum Hill set the course record with a 61-round. Nicolai Von Dellingshausen finished the day one under par, holding a promising 14th place, just one stroke behind the main chasing pack. Notably, Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider missed the cut.

DP World Tour: Freddy Schott’s Second Eagle of the Week

After an excellent performance on Thursday, Freddy Schott aimed to maintain his momentum on Friday. Starting strong with a birdie on hole 1, he recovered well from a drive that went right on hole 3 to make his second birdie. By the turn, Schott was three under par. On the back nine, he added a birdie on 13 and played two perfect shots on 14 to achieve his second eagle of the week, sinking a putt from nearly seven meters. Despite bogeys on holes 15 and 18, and a final birdie on 17, he finished five under par for the day, securing second place heading into the weekend.

Nicolai Von Dellingshausen could not match his previous day’s score and ended with one under par, dropping to 14th place. He began the back nine error-free and scored birdies on his first hole back, 13, and hole 1, keeping him within striking distance of the leaders. However, two poor shots on hole 3 and a missed short putt on 7 resulted in two bogeys at the end. Nonetheless, Von Dellingshausen remains at seven under par overall and just one shot behind the chasing group tied for fourth place.

Calum Hill Tops the Leaderboard with Course Record

Calum Hill played a flawless round on Friday, recording eleven birdies without dropping a single shot. His 61, eleven under par, equals the course record at Royal GC in Bahrain. Hill heads into the weekend with a four-stroke lead and is aiming for his first win since the Joburg Open in March 2025.
