DP World Tour: Freddy Schott’s Second Eagle of the Week
Following an excellent round on Thursday, Freddy Schott aimed to maintain his performance on Friday to secure a good position for the weekend. He started strong with a birdie on the first hole. Although his drive on hole 3 veered right and his second shot landed in the rough, he managed to recover well, sinking his second birdie of the day. A third birdie on hole 9 brought him to three under par on the front nine. On the back nine, Schott continued with a birdie at hole 13 and then eagled hole 14 after two perfect shots and a 7-meter putt. Despite bogeys on holes 15 and 18, he finished the round 5 under par, placing him second going into the weekend.
Nicolai Von Dellingshausen didn’t quite match his Thursday performance but still closed with one under par, dropping to 14th place. He played solidly on the back nine, opening with a birdie and adding two more on holes 13 and 1. However, two errors on hole 3 and a missed short putt on hole 7 led to two bogeys at the end. He remains just one stroke behind the main chase group tied for fourth at seven under par.
Calum Hill Leads with Course Record
Calum Hill delivered a flawless round on Friday, recording eleven birdies with no dropped shots. His 61 tied the course record at Royal GC in Bahrain, giving him a four-shot lead heading into the weekend. For the 31-year-old, this would represent his first victory since the Joburg Open in March 2025.
