DP World Tour: Freddy Schott Secures 2nd Place Heading into Weekend

Freddy Schott confirms his strong performance with a 67 and sits 2nd at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour. Only a course record holds him back. 

Freddy Schott positioned himself strongly for the weekend with a second day 67 at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour, standing at 12 under par and four strokes ahead of the chasing pack. However, ahead of him is Scotsman Calum Hill who tied the course record with a stunning 61. Nicolai Von Dellingshausen finished with a 1 under par on the day and lurks in a promising 14th place, just one shot behind the main chasing group. Unfortunately, Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider missed the cut.

DP World Tour: Freddy Schott’s Second Eagle of the Week

Following an impressive Thursday round, Freddy Schott aimed to maintain momentum on Friday and secure a solid position heading into the weekend. He started strongly, sinking a birdie on the first hole after positioning his ball expertly beside the hole. Despite a challenging drive and second shot into the rough on the third hole, Schott cleverly recovered to make his second birdie of the day. Another birdie on the ninth hole put him three under on the front nine. On the back nine, Schott birdied the 13th and then delivered two perfect shots on the 14th to claim his second eagle of the week from just under 7 meters. Although he stumbled with bogeys on the 15th and last holes, a birdie on 17 helped him finish with a five under par 67, placing him second heading into the weekend.

Nicolai Von Dellingshausen was not quite able to replicate his Thursday form on Friday, finishing with a one under par round and falling back to 14th place.
