DP World Tour: Freddy Schott Moves to Second Heading into Weekend

Freddy Schott confirmed his strong form with a 67, moving to second place at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour.

Freddy Schott positioned himself strongly for the weekend with a second-round 67 at the Bapco Energies Bahrain Championship on the DP World Tour. Sitting at 12 under par, he holds a four-shot lead over a chasing group. However, Scotland’s Calum Hill leads after setting a course record with a 61. Nicolai Von Dellingshausen, finishing with a 1 under par on day two, is in a promising 14th place, just one shot behind the main chasing pack. Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider missed the cut.

DP World Tour: Freddy Schott’s Second Eagle of the Week

After an excellent round on Thursday, Freddy Schott aimed to confirm his performance and secure a strong position for the weekend. He started solidly with a birdie on hole 1 after a clean approach shot. Despite a drive that veered right on hole 3, Schott saved par and added his second birdie of the day. By hole 9, he was 3 under on the front nine. On the back nine, birdies on 13 and an eagle on 14, from just under 7 meters after two precise shots, boosted his score. However, a bogey on 15 and another on the last hole tempered his round, which finished at 5 under par for the day, placing him second going into the weekend.

Nicolai Von Dellingshausen was less consistent, finishing the day 1 under par and dropping to 14th place. After a strong start with birdies on his first back nine hole, 13, and 1, two bogeys late on holes 3 and 7 kept him just one shot behind the group tied for fourth. He remains in striking distance for the weekend with a total of 7 under par.

Calum Hill Leads with Course Record

Calum Hill delivered a flawless round on Friday, carding eleven birdies and no bogeys to shoot 61, 11 under par, equaling the course record at Royal GC Bahrain. Leading by four shots heading into the weekend, the 31-year-old aims for his first victory since the Joburg Open in March 2025.
