DP World Tour: Siem and Schneider Climb at Mauritius Open

Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider move into the top 20 at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, while Allen John withdraws.

The second round of the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Sunshine Tour, took place at La Réserve Golf Links in Bel Ombre on the island of Mauritius. Despite occasional rain and coastal winds, German players Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider managed to climb into the top 20.

Siem and Schneider Make Moves on the Leaderboard

Marcel Schneider opened his round with four birdies on the front nine, offsetting a bogey on the 9th. He added two more birdies on the back nine before finishing with another bogey on the final hole. His 68 (-4) placed him in a tie for 20th.

Marcel Siem matched that position with a strong 67 (-5), carding eight birdies and two bogeys. After an over-par performance in round one, Siem’s second round helped him recover lost ground and join Schneider at T20.

Nick Bachem also remained steady on day two. The 26-year-old from Cologne balanced two bogeys with four birdies to shoot a 70 (-2), placing him T37 and keeping him in contention heading into the weekend.

Foos Misses Cut, Allen John Withdraws

Dominic Foos had a rough day, despite starting with a birdie. A double bogey on the 8th hole disrupted his rhythm, and further mistakes on the back nine led to a 75 (+3). He missed the cut, finishing T116.

Allen John began his round on the 10th hole but struggled with three bogeys and a double bogey before withdrawing midway through his round. He exited the tournament at +14 after playing three nine-hole segments.

At the top of the leaderboard, South Africa’s Casey Jarvis shot a 65 to reach -12, holding a two-shot lead over France’s Alexander Levy,
