DP World Tour: Siem and Schneider Climb Leaderboard in Mauritius

Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider posted strong rounds at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, climbing into the top 20.

The second round of the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Sunshine Tour, took place at La Réserve Golf Links in Bel Ombre, Mauritius. Despite occasional rain and light coastal winds, German players Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider made significant moves up the leaderboard.

Siem and Schneider Break into Top 20

Marcel Schneider opened his round with four birdies on the front nine, offsetting a bogey at the 9th. He added two more birdies on the back nine before closing with another bogey, carding a 68 to finish four under par and tied for 20th.

Marcel Siem matched Schneider’s position with an impressive 67, featuring eight birdies and two bogeys. After an over-par opening round, Siem’s local knowledge helped him rebound and climb the leaderboard.

Mixed Results for Other Germans

Nick Bachem continued his steady play with a 70, balancing two bogeys with four birdies to remain at two under par, tied for 37th. Dominic Foos struggled again, finishing with a 75 after a round that included two double bogeys and multiple bogeys, missing the cut at T116.

Allen John Withdraws from Tournament

Allen John had a rough start with three bogeys and a double bogey before withdrawing midway through his second round. He exited the tournament at 14 over par after playing three nine-hole rounds.

At the top of the leaderboard, South Africa’s Casey Jarvis leads at 12 under after a 65. France’s Alexander Levy is two shots back following a bogey-free 66, while Spain’s Manuel Elvira sits one stroke behind Levy after a 67 with seven birdies and two bogeys.
