Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider posted strong rounds at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, while Allen John withdrew.
The second round of the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and the Sunshine Tour, took place at La Réserve Golf Links in Bel Ombre on the island of Mauritius. Despite intermittent rain and coastal winds, German players Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider made significant moves toward the top 20.
Siem and Schneider Move into Top 20
Marcel Schneider opened his round with four birdies on the front nine, offsetting a single bogey at the 9th. He added two more birdies on the back nine before closing with another bogey, carding a 68 to finish four-under-par and tied for 20th.
Marcel Siem matched that position with an impressive 67, featuring eight birdies and two bogeys. After an over-par opening round, Siem’s second-day performance brought him back into contention at four-under-par.
