DP World Tour: Schneider and Siem Shine on Moving Day in Mauritius

Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem delivered strong rounds on Saturday at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, entering the final day in top positions.

On Moving Day at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open on the DP World Tour, both Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem played impressive rounds to position themselves well for Sunday’s final round. Schneider carded a six-under-par 66 to move into a tie for 9th, while Siem followed with a four-under 68 to sit T14. South Africa’s Casey Jarvis and American Ryan Gerard lead the field at 16-under-par, with Gerard firing a sensational 63.

DP World Tour: Schneider nearly flawless, Siem surges late

Marcel Schneider played a nearly flawless round on Saturday to break into the top 10. He opened with a birdie on hole 4, followed by back-to-back birdies on 5 and 6. Another birdie on 8 was slightly offset by his only bogey of the day on hole 9—his third consecutive bogey on that hole this week. Unfazed, the 35-year-old added birdies on holes 12, 13, and 14 on the back nine to finish with a 66 and climb to T9.

Marcel Siem had a slower start, with his only front-nine highlight being a birdie on hole 3. A bogey on 10 set him back, but he rebounded with a stunning stretch of four consecutive birdies from holes 12 to 15. Despite a bogey on 16, he closed with another birdie on 18 to sign for a 68. At T14, Siem remains in contention for a strong finish.

Ryan Gerard surges to the top with birdie blitz

Ryan Gerard posted the round of the day with a nine-under-par 63. After an early bogey on hole 2, he bounced back with birdies on 3, 5, 6, and 8 to go out in 33. On the back nine, Gerard caught fire with five straight birdies from holes 12 to 16, then capped his round with a tenth birdie on 18. The performance vaulted him into a share of the lead heading into Sunday’s final round.
