DP World Tour: Schneider nearly flawless, Siem surges late
Marcel Schneider played a near-flawless round to break into the top 10. He opened his birdie account on hole 4 and followed up with two more on holes 5 and 6. After another birdie on 8, his only blemish came on the 9th—his third consecutive bogey on that hole this week. Unfazed, the 35-year-old added three more birdies on holes 12, 13, and 14 to finish with a 66 and move to T9.
Marcel Siem had a slower start, with just one birdie on the front nine. A bogey on hole 10 set him back, but he responded with a flurry of four consecutive birdies from holes 12 to 15. Despite another bogey on 16, he closed with a birdie on 18 to sign for a 68, putting him in T14 with a shot at a strong finish.
Ryan Gerard surges with birdie blitz
Ryan Gerard delivered the round of the day with a nine-under-par 63. After an early bogey on hole 2, he rebounded with birdies on holes 3, 5, 6, and 8 to go three-under on the front nine. His back nine was electric, featuring five straight birdies from holes 12 to 16. He capped off his round with a tenth birdie on 18, vaulting into a share of the lead.
