DP World Tour: Schneider and Siem Climb Leaderboard on Moving Day

Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem impressed on Moving Day at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open and head into the final round in strong positions.

At the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open on the DP World Tour, both Marcel Schneider and Marcel Siem delivered strong performances on Saturday, positioning themselves well for the final round. Schneider carded a six-under-par 66 to move into a tie for ninth, while Siem shot a four-under 68 to sit tied for 14th. South Africa’s Casey Jarvis and American Ryan Gerard lead the field at 16-under-par overall, with Gerard firing a sensational 63.

DP World Tour: Schneider nearly flawless, Siem surges late

Marcel Schneider played a nearly flawless round to break into the top 10. He opened his birdie account on the 4th hole and followed it up with two more on the 5th and 6th. A fourth birdie came at the 8th, but the 9th hole once again proved tricky, as he recorded his only bogey of the day—his third in as many rounds on that hole. Unfazed, the 35-year-old added three more birdies on the 12th, 13th, and 14th to finish with a 66 and move to T9.

Marcel Siem had a slower start, with a lone birdie on the 3rd hole as his only highlight on the front nine. A bogey on the 10th set him back, but he then caught fire with four consecutive birdies from holes 12 to 15. After a second bogey on the 16th, he closed with a birdie on the 18th to sign for a 68. At T14, Siem remains in contention for a top finish.

Ryan Gerard surges to the top with birdie streak

Ryan Gerard delivered the round of the day with a nine-under-par 63. Despite an early bogey on the 2nd, he bounced back with birdies on the 3rd, 5th, 6th, and 8th to go three-under at the turn. The back nine saw a remarkable streak of five straight birdies from holes 12 to 16. He capped off his round with a tenth birdie on the 18th, moving into a share of the lead at 16-under-par.
