DP World Tour: Schneider nearly flawless, Siem surges late
Marcel Schneider played a nearly error-free round to break into the top 10. He opened his scoring with a birdie on the 4th hole, followed by back-to-back birdies on 5 and 6. After another birdie on 8, his only blemish came on the 9th, where he made bogey for the third day in a row. Unfazed, the 35-year-old added three more birdies on holes 12, 13, and 14 to finish with a 66 and climb to T9.
Marcel Siem had a slower start, with just one birdie on the front nine at hole 3. A bogey on 10 set him back, but he bounced back with a flurry of four consecutive birdies from holes 12 to 15. After a bogey on 16, he closed with a birdie on 18 to sign for a 68. At T14, Siem remains in contention for a strong finish.
Ryan Gerard fires 63 to grab share of the lead
Ryan Gerard delivered the round of the day with a 9-under 63. Despite an early bogey on hole 2, he rebounded with birdies on 3, 5, 6, and 8 to go 3-under at the turn. On the back nine, Gerard caught fire with five straight birdies from holes 12 to 16. He capped off his round with a final birdie on 18, bringing his total to 10 birdies and earning a share of the lead heading into Sunday.
