Jayden Schaper claims his second straight DP World Tour title with a stunning chip-in eagle to win the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
Jayden Schaper delivered another unforgettable performance to win the 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open at La Réserve Golf Links. The South African triumphed in a playoff for the second consecutive week, this time edging out American Ryan Gerard with a spectacular chip-in eagle on the second extra hole.
Schaper, 24, opened his final round with two birdies and an eagle on the 5th, maintaining his momentum with four more birdies on the back nine. His bogey-free 64 (-8) put him in a tie at 22-under-par with Gerard, who carded a strong 66 (-6) with six birdies and no bogeys.
The playoff was decided in dramatic fashion as Schaper holed out from off the green for eagle, while Gerard could only manage par. With this win, Schaper closes out the DP World Tour season with back-to-back victories, having also won the Alfred Dunhill Championship the previous week.
Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’
Speaking after the win, an emotional Schaper said, ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like that. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be great this year and so is the new year.’
Fellow South African Casey Jarvis secured solo third place. Despite a final-round 71 that included three bogeys and four birdies, Jarvis remained a consistent presence near the top of the leaderboard throughout the tournament.
Mixed results for German players on final day
German contenders Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider both struggled in the final round. Schneider, who had been in solid form, faltered on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey on the 12th, finishing with a 78 and dropping to T37 at four-under-par—alongside Siem, who also shot a disappointing 76 (+4).
Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, posted an even-par round on Sunday and finished T48 at one-under-par overall.
