Jayden Schaper wins AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in playoff thriller

Jayden Schaper claims his second consecutive DP World Tour title with a dramatic chip-in eagle at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.

South African Jayden Schaper captured his second straight DP World Tour victory by winning the 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in spectacular fashion. Held at La Réserve Golf Links, Schaper edged out American Ryan Gerard in a playoff, sealing the title with a stunning chip-in eagle on the second extra hole.

Schaper, 24, started strong with two birdies on the front nine and an eagle on the 5th hole. He maintained his momentum on the back nine, adding four more birdies to card an impressive final-round 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), featuring four birdies on the front and two more on the back.

Both players finished the tournament at 22-under-par, forcing a playoff. On the second playoff hole, Schaper delivered a highlight-reel moment by holing out from off the green for eagle, while Gerard could only manage par.

DP World Tour: Back-to-back wins for Jayden Schaper

Schaper’s victory in Mauritius follows his playoff win at the Alfred Dunhill Championship the previous week, marking a remarkable end to his 2025 season. “The last three weeks have been incredible,” Schaper said. “I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like this. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course — from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas will be great this year and so will the New Year.”

Fellow South African Casey Jarvis secured third place after a final-round 71 that included four birdies and three bogeys, capping off a consistent week near the top of the leaderboard.

Mixed results for German players

German contenders Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider struggled on the final day. Schneider, who had been steady early on, faltered on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey, finishing with a 78 and tied for 37th at four-under-par. Siem also posted a disappointing 76 (+4), matching Schneider’s overall score and position.

Nick Bachem, the only other German to make the cut, shot even par in the final round and ended the tournament at one-under, tied for 48th.
