Jayden Schaper claims back-to-back DP World Tour titles with a dramatic chip-in eagle at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.
South Africa’s Jayden Schaper delivered another thrilling performance to win the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open, securing his second consecutive DP World Tour victory in a playoff. The 24-year-old triumphed at La Réserve Golf Links with a spectacular chip-in eagle on the second playoff hole, edging out American Ryan Gerard at the final event of the 2025 season.
Schaper started strong with two birdies and an eagle on the front nine, followed by four more birdies on the back nine to card an impressive 64 (-8) in the final round. Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), featuring six birdies, to force a playoff after both players finished at 22-under-par.
In the playoff, Schaper sealed the win in stunning fashion with a chip-in eagle, while Gerard could only manage par. It marked Schaper’s second straight win on tour, both achieved in playoffs, capping off a remarkable end to his 2025 season.
Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for more’
Speaking after his victory, an emotional Schaper said, ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like that. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for more. Christmas is going to be great this year, and so will the New Year.’
Fellow South African Casey Jarvis claimed third place after a steady week. His final round included four birdies and three bogeys, resulting in a 71 and a solid finish near the top of the leaderboard.
Mixed results for German players on final day
German golfers Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider, who had been closely matched throughout the tournament, both struggled in the final round. Schneider, after a steady front nine, faltered on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey to finish with a 78, dropping to T37 at four-under-par. Siem also had a tough day, carding a 76 with three birdies offset by multiple bogeys and double bogeys, ending tied with Schneider.
Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, finished even par on the final day and concluded the tournament at one-under-par, placing T48.
