Jayden Schaper wins AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in dramatic playoff

Jayden Schaper claims back-to-back DP World Tour titles with a chip-in eagle to win the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.

South African golfer Jayden Schaper continued his winning streak on the DP World Tour by capturing the 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open title in spectacular fashion. Held at La Réserve Golf Links on the picturesque island of Mauritius, Schaper triumphed in a playoff for the second consecutive week, this time edging out American Ryan Gerard with a dramatic chip-in eagle on the second extra hole.

Schaper opened his final round with two birdies and an eagle on the front nine, maintaining momentum with four more birdies on the back nine to card an impressive 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on throughout, going bogey-free with six birdies for a 66 (-6), forcing a playoff after both finished at 22-under-par.

In the playoff, Schaper sealed the win with a clutch chip-in eagle, while Gerard could only manage par. The victory marks Schaper’s second straight DP World Tour title, following his win at the Alfred Dunhill Championship the previous week.

Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’

Overwhelmed with emotion, Schaper reflected on his back-to-back wins: ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like that. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas is going to be great this year, and so is the New Year.’

Fellow South African Casey Jarvis secured solo third place after a final round of 71, which included four birdies and three bogeys. Jarvis had been a consistent presence near the top of the leaderboard throughout the week.

Mixed results for German players on final day

Germany’s Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider both struggled on the final day. Schneider, who had a solid front nine with just one bogey, faltered on the back nine with three more bogeys and a double bogey on the 12th, finishing with a 78 and dropping to T37 at four-under-par. Siem also carded a disappointing 76 (+4), matching Schneider’s total score and position.

Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, shot an even-par round on Sunday to finish T48 at one-under-par overall.
