Jayden Schaper wins back-to-back titles on DP World Tour

Jayden Schaper captures the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open title with a playoff chip-in eagle, repeating last week’s triumph.

South African golfer Jayden Schaper continued his winning streak on the DP World Tour by claiming the 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open at La Réserve Golf Links. Just a week after his playoff victory at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, Schaper once again triumphed in dramatic fashion, defeating American Ryan Gerard in a playoff with a spectacular chip-in eagle.

Schaper opened his final round with two birdies and an eagle on the front nine, followed by four more birdies on the back nine to card an impressive 64 (-8). Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), featuring four birdies on the front and two on the back. Both players finished at 22-under-par, forcing a playoff.

On the second playoff hole, Schaper sealed the win with a stunning chip-in for eagle, while Gerard could only manage par. The 24-year-old celebrated his second consecutive DP World Tour title, both secured in playoffs, closing out the 2025 season in style.

Jayden Schaper on his win: ‘I couldn’t have asked for more’

Speaking after the victory, an emotional Schaper reflected on his back-to-back wins: “The last three weeks have been unbelievable. I don’t know what to say. It’s just crazy to finish a tournament like that. It was such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for more. Christmas will be great this year and the new year too.”

Fellow South African Casey Jarvis secured third place after a steady week. His final round included four birdies and three bogeys, resulting in a 71.

Mixed results for German players in final round

Germany’s Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider, who had been closely matched throughout the tournament, both struggled on the final day. Schneider began steadily but faltered on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey, finishing with a 78 and dropping to T37 at -4. Siem also shot a disappointing 76 (+4), matching Schneider’s total.

Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, shot even par in the final round and ended the tournament at -1, tied for 48th place.
