Jayden Schaper wins AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open in playoff

Jayden Schaper claims back-to-back DP World Tour titles with a dramatic chip-in eagle at the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open.

South African Jayden Schaper continued his winning streak on the DP World Tour by capturing the 2025 AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open title in spectacular fashion. On the La Réserve Golf Links, Schaper edged out American Ryan Gerard in a playoff, repeating his success from the previous week at the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

Schaper started strong with two birdies on the front nine and an eagle on the 5th hole. He maintained momentum on the back nine, adding four more birdies to card a superb 64 (-8) in the final round. Gerard kept the pressure on with a bogey-free 66 (-6), featuring six birdies, which brought both players to a 22-under-par total and forced a playoff.

In the playoff, Schaper sealed the win with a stunning chip-in eagle on the second extra hole, while Gerard could only manage par. It marked Schaper’s second consecutive DP World Tour victory, both decided in playoffs, capping off a remarkable end to his 2025 season.

Jayden Schaper: ‘I couldn’t have asked for anything better’

Following his win, an emotional Schaper reflected on his back-to-back triumphs: ‘The last three weeks have been incredible. I don’t know what to say. To finish a tournament like this is just crazy. It’s been such a great week, such a great place, the support, the golf course—from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Christmas will be great this year, and so will the New Year.’

Fellow South African Casey Jarvis secured third place after a steady performance throughout the week. His final round included four birdies and three bogeys, resulting in a 71.

Mixed final day for German contenders

German players Marcel Siem and Marcel Schneider, who had been closely matched throughout the tournament, both struggled on the final day. Schneider started solidly but faltered on the back nine with three bogeys and a double bogey, finishing with a 78 and tied for 37th at -4. Siem also had a tough round, carding a 76 with three birdies offset by three double bogeys and two bogeys, ending alongside Schneider.

Nick Bachem, the third German to make the cut, shot even par in the final round and finished tied for 48th at -1 overall.
