DP World Tour: Rai leads, Germans trail on Moving Day in Abu Dhabi

Marcel Schneider and Nicolai von Dellingshausen remain in the lower third of the field on Moving Day at the DP World Tour in Abu Dhabi.

Saturday at the Yas Links Golf Course lived up to its Moving Day reputation as the leaderboard of the DP World Tour event in Abu Dhabi saw significant shifts. While Nicolai von Dellingshausen struggled to find momentum, Marcel Schneider delivered a steady round without making a major leap forward.

Steady round for Marcel Schneider

Schneider started his third round with focus. On the par-5 2nd hole, he set up a birdie with a precise wedge after solid long game, and converted it confidently. Another birdie followed on the 7th after a long pitch landed just inches from the hole. At the turn, the 35-year-old stood at two under par. A brief setback came on holes 13 and 14 with missed up-and-downs resulting in bogeys. He recovered with birdies on 15 and the par-3 17th, finishing with a 70, two under par for the day.

Early struggles for von Dellingshausen

After a promising start to the tournament, Saturday proved difficult for von Dellingshausen. A drive into the native area on the 2nd led to an early bogey. Missed up-and-downs on the 3rd and 6th pushed his score to +3. He briefly bounced back with birdies on 7 and 8, including a strong putt on the short par-3. However, another bogey on the 9th left him at +2 at the turn. The back nine offered no birdie chances, and a missed short putt on 17 added a fourth bogey. With a 75, he dropped back and will start Sunday tied for 53rd, alongside Schneider.

Rai leads tightly packed leaderboard

While the German duo lingers in the lower ranks, Aaron Rai holds the lead at 20 under par.
