Charles Schwab Cup Finale: Who Will Win the 2025 Champions Tour?

At the Charles Schwab Cup finale in Phoenix, five players still have a shot at winning the 2025 Champions Tour title.

The final chapter of the 2025 Champions Tour season will be written in Phoenix. The Charles Schwab Cup is the grand finale of the over-50 series, showcasing the most consistent performers of the year. Held at Phoenix Country Club, a par-71 course stretching 6,860 yards, the event brings together the top 36 players of the season. While most are aiming to finish strong, five players are still in contention for the ultimate prize: the Charles Schwab Cup.

Who Will Win the Charles Schwab Cup on the Champions Tour?

Steven Alker enters the finale as the points leader. The New Zealander has built a commanding lead throughout the season, holding nearly a 100,000-point advantage over Miguel Ángel Jiménez. This cushion means Alker could potentially secure the title even with a lower finish—if his rivals don’t perform. Jiménez needs at least a top-14 finish to stay in the hunt. Stewart Cink, Ernie Els, and Thomas Bjørn round out the top five and must deliver strong performances to have a shot. For Els and Bjørn, only a win will keep their title hopes alive.

German Veterans Langer and Cejka in the Mix

From a German perspective, the Charles Schwab Cup remains a key event in 2025. Bernhard Langer and Alex Cejka have both qualified among the top 36 players and will tee it up in Phoenix. Langer, a seven-time Charles Schwab Cup champion, is the defending champion of the season finale and enters ranked 27th in the season standings. At 67, Langer has seen it all—but he’s still right in the mix. Cejka, currently 12th in the rankings, is also part of the championship field and looking to make a strong finish.
