Bernhard Langer and his son Jason played well at the PNC Championship but missed the podium as defending champions.
The PNC Championship, held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Orlando, Florida, marked the season finale of the 2025 PGA Champions Tour. Played in a two-round scramble format, the family-team event saw Team Kuchar claim victory ahead of Team Love and Team Daly. Bernhard Langer and his son Jason finished tied for seventh, while fan favorite John Daly and his son John II secured a share of second place.
Team Kuchar, consisting of 2016 Ryder Cup winner and multiple Presidents Cup champion Matt Kuchar and his son Cameron, delivered a dominant performance. They opened with a flawless round of 15 birdies on Saturday and followed up with 14 birdies and two eagles on Sunday. Their total of 33-under-par secured a clear win.
Sharing second place at 26-under-par were Team Daly and Team Love. John Daly and his son John II impressed with identical rounds of 59, each featuring nine birdies and two eagles. Davis Love III, the 1997 PGA Championship winner, and his son Dru posted a 60 on Saturday and a bogey-free Sunday round with 14 birdies.
Nelly Korda shines with top-5 finish
Steven Stricker, former Ryder Cup captain, teamed up with his daughter Izzi to finish tied for fourth at 25-under-par. They shared the spot with Team Korda, featuring two-time major champion and Olympic gold medalist Nelly Korda and her father Petr. The Kordas opened with a 60 and improved to a 59 on Sunday.
Defending champions Langer & son fall short
Two-time Masters champion Bernhard Langer and his son Jason, last year’s winners, couldn’t repeat their success. They started with a bogey-free 61 (-11) and improved to a 60 (-12) on Sunday, finishing at 23-under-par and tied for seventh place.
