Bernhard Langer and son Jason played well at the PNC Championship but missed the podium as defending champions.
The 2025 PNC Championship, held at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Orlando, Florida, concluded with Team Kuchar taking the title. The family-team event, played in a scramble format over two rounds, marked the season finale of the PGA Champions Tour. Among the notable participants were Bernhard Langer and his son Jason (T7), as well as fan favorite John Daly and his son John II (T2).
Team Kuchar dominates the field
Matt Kuchar, a 2016 Ryder Cup winner and multiple Presidents Cup champion, teamed up with his son Cameron to deliver a dominant performance. On Saturday, they posted a flawless round with 15 birdies, finishing 15-under par. They followed up with 14 birdies and two eagles on Sunday to secure the win at 33-under par, topping the leaderboard by a wide margin.
Teams Daly and Love shared second place at 26-under par. John Daly and his son John II impressed with back-to-back 59s, each featuring nine birdies and two eagles. Davis Love III, the 1997 PGA Champion, and his son Dru opened with a 60 (-12) and added 14 birdies on Sunday to match Team Daly’s total.
Nelly Korda shines in family format
Steven Stricker, former Ryder Cup captain, played alongside his daughter Izzi, finishing T4 at 25-under par. They shared the spot with Team Korda, featuring LPGA star and Olympic gold medalist Nelly Korda and her father Petr. The Kordas opened with a 60 and improved to a 59 on Sunday, showcasing Nelly’s elite skill in the family-friendly event.
Bernhard Langer finishes T7
Defending champions Bernhard and Jason Langer couldn’t replicate last year’s success. The two-time Masters winner and his son started with a bogey-free 61 (-11) and followed with a 60 (-10) on Sunday. Their 23-under total placed them tied for seventh, just short of the podium in a highly competitive field.
