Bryson DeChambeau on LIV Future and Koepka’s Surprise Exit

Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing LIV Golf contract talks and how Koepka’s departure impacts the league.

Brooks Koepka’s exit from the LIV Golf League came as a surprise to many — including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s departure marks a significant moment in the young history of the league. For DeChambeau, it’s both a disruption and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future with LIV.

Bryson DeChambeau: Contract extension possible, but not guaranteed

DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but early extension talks are already underway. “The discussions are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time major champion. While he didn’t reveal specifics, he emphasized that both sides are interested — as long as the terms are fair. “It has to make sense for both parties.” He highlighted the importance of league development, structure, and long-term vision. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve.”

Crushers GC: A model of success within LIV

While other teams face instability, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. In 2025, the team not only performed well on the course but also posted strong financials: $20 million in revenue and a positive balance sheet. “We’re not expanding too fast, we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III remaining on board through 2026, DeChambeau sees his team as a proof of concept — a success story that strengthens his position in talks with LIV Golf.

PGA Tour return? Only with clear rules

On the topic of Koepka potentially returning to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau is cautious. “If we’re playing by the rules, there can’t be exceptions. If there are, it opens the door for others.” While LIV remains his current focus, DeChambeau is open to other ventures: “I could do YouTube golf — that would be enough for me.”
