Bryson DeChambeau on LIV Future and Koepka’s Exit Shock

Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing LIV Golf contract talks and how Koepka’s departure impacts negotiations.

The departure of Brooks Koepka from the LIV Golf League came as a surprise to many — including Bryson DeChambeau. “That wasn’t on my bingo card for December 23,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s exit marks a significant shift in the league’s short history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a disruption and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” While Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future with LIV.

Bryson DeChambeau: Contract extension possible, but not guaranteed

DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but early extension talks are already underway. “The conversations are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time Major champion. He didn’t reveal specifics but emphasized the importance of mutual benefit: “It has to make sense for both sides.” The league’s development, structure, and long-term vision appear to be key factors for him. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve,” he added.

Crushers GC: A model of success within LIV

While other teams face instability, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. In 2025, the team not only performed well on the course but also posted strong financials: $20 million in revenue, a positive balance sheet, and strategic growth. “We’re not expanding too fast; we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III remaining on board for 2026, the team’s core stays intact. DeChambeau sees this as proof that his team is on the right path — a success that strengthens his position in negotiations with LIV Golf.

On PGA Tour return: Clear rules or not at all

Regarding Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau remains cautious. “If we’re playing by the rules, there should be no exceptions. Otherwise, it opens the door for others,” he said. While LIV Golf remains his focus, DeChambeau is also open to other ventures: “I could do YouTube golf — that would be enough for me.”
