Bryson DeChambeau on LIV Future and Koepka’s Surprising Exit

Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing LIV Golf contract talks and how Brooks Koepka’s departure impacts negotiations.

Brooks Koepka’s exit from the LIV Golf League came as a surprise to many—including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23,” DeChambeau told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s departure marks a significant shift in the league’s young history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a loss and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” While Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his role and future with LIV Golf.

Bryson DeChambeau: Contract extension possible, but not guaranteed

DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but early extension talks are already underway. “Discussions are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time major champion. He didn’t reveal specifics but emphasized mutual interest—provided both sides benefit. “It has to make sense for both parties.” The league’s development, structure, and future outlook appear to be key factors for him. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve,” he added.

Crushers GC: A model of success within LIV

While other teams face instability, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. In 2025, the team not only performed well on the course but also posted strong financials: $20 million in revenue, a positive balance sheet, and a strategic growth plan. “We’re not expanding too fast—we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III remaining on board for 2026, the team’s core remains intact. DeChambeau sees this as proof that his approach within LIV is working—strengthening his negotiating position with the league.

On PGA Tour return: Clear rules or none at all

Regarding Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau is cautious. “If we’re playing by the rules, there should be no special treatment. If there is, it opens the door for others,” he said. For now, his focus remains on LIV Golf, though he’s open to broader ventures: “I could do YouTube golf—that would be enough for me.”
