Bryson DeChambeau on Koepka Exit and LIV Golf Future Talks

Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing contract talks with LIV Golf and how Koepka’s departure impacts the league.

Brooks Koepka’s exit from the LIV Golf League came as a surprise to many — including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s departure marks a turning point in the young history of the league. For DeChambeau, it’s both a loss and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his role and future with LIV.

Bryson DeChambeau: Contract extension possible, but not guaranteed

DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but early extension talks are already underway. “The talks are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time Major champion. While he didn’t reveal specifics, he emphasized mutual interest — as long as both sides benefit. “It has to make sense for both parties.” The league’s development, structure, and long-term vision appear to be key factors. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve,” he added.

Crushers GC: A model of success within LIV

While other teams face instability, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. In 2025, the team not only performed well on the course but also posted strong financials: $20 million in revenue, a positive balance sheet, and a strategic approach. “We’re not expanding too fast; we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III remaining on the roster for 2026, DeChambeau sees his team as a working model within the league — strengthening his position in negotiations with LIV Golf.

PGA Tour return? Only with clear rules

Regarding Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau is cautious. “If we’re playing by the rules, there should be no exceptions. If there are, it opens the door for others.” While LIV Golf remains his primary focus, DeChambeau is open to other ventures: “I could do YouTube golf — that would be enough for me.”
