Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing LIV Golf contract and how Koepka’s departure impacts negotiations.
Brooks Koepka’s exit from the LIV Golf League came as a surprise to many — including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23rd,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s departure marks a significant moment in the league’s young history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a setback and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future with LIV.
Bryson DeChambeau: Contract Talks Ongoing, Future Uncertain
DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but early extension talks are already underway. “Discussions are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time major champion. While he didn’t reveal specifics, he emphasized that both sides must benefit equally: “It has to make sense for both parties.” He highlighted the importance of league development, structure, and long-term vision. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve for that to happen.”
Crushers GC: A Model of Stability in LIV Golf
While other teams face uncertainty, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. In 2025, the team not only performed well on the course but also posted strong financials: $20 million in revenue and a positive balance sheet. “We’re not expanding too fast; we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III remaining on the roster for 2026, DeChambeau sees this stability as proof of his team’s successful approach — and a boost to his leverage in talks with LIV Golf.
On PGA Tour Return: Clear Rules or Nothing
Regarding Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau remains cautious. “If we’re playing by the rules, there shouldn’t be exceptions. If there are, it opens the door for others.” While LIV Golf remains his focus, DeChambeau is also open to other ventures: “I could do YouTube golf — that would be enough for me.”
