Bryson DeChambeau on Koepka’s Exit and His LIV Golf Future

Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing LIV Golf contract and how Koepka’s departure impacts negotiations.

The departure of Brooks Koepka from the LIV Golf League came as a surprise to many — including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23rd,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s exit marks a pivotal moment in the young league’s history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a disruption and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future with LIV.

Bryson DeChambeau: Contract Talks Underway, But No Guarantees

DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but early extension talks are already in motion. “Discussions are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time Major champion. While he didn’t reveal specifics, he emphasized the importance of mutual benefit: “It has to make sense for both sides.” For DeChambeau, the league’s development, structure, and future outlook are key factors. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve for that to happen.”

Crushers GC: A LIV Success Story

While some teams face turbulence, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. In 2025, the team not only performed well on the course but also achieved financial success: $20 million in revenue, a positive balance sheet, and a strategic growth model. “We’re not expanding too fast; we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III remaining on board for 2026, the team’s core remains intact. DeChambeau sees this as proof that his approach is working — and it strengthens his negotiating position with LIV Golf.

On PGA Tour Return: Clear Rules or Nothing

Regarding Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau is cautious. “If we’re playing by the rules, there can’t be exceptions. If there are, it opens the door for others.” While his focus remains on LIV Golf, DeChambeau hints at broader ambitions: “I could do YouTube golf — that’d be enough for me.”
