Bryson DeChambeau on Koepka’s Exit and His LIV Golf Future

Bryson DeChambeau discusses his current LIV Golf contract and how Koepka’s departure impacts ongoing negotiations.

The news of Brooks Koepka leaving the LIV Golf League came as a surprise to many—including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s exit marks a significant moment in the league’s young history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a disruption and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future with LIV.

Bryson DeChambeau: Contract Talks Ongoing, Future Uncertain

DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but discussions about an early extension are already underway. “Talks are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time Major champion. He didn’t reveal specifics but emphasized that both sides must see mutual value: “It has to make sense for both parties.” The league’s development, structure, and long-term vision appear to be key factors for him. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve for that to happen.”

Crushers GC: A LIV Success Story

While other teams face uncertainty, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. In 2025, the team not only performed well on the course but also posted strong financials: $20 million in revenue, a positive balance sheet, and a strategic growth plan. “We’re not expanding too fast, we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III remaining on board for 2026, the team’s core remains intact. DeChambeau sees this as proof that his approach within the league is working—strengthening his negotiating position with LIV Golf.

On PGA Tour Return: Rules Must Be Clear

Regarding Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau is cautious. “If we’re playing by the rules, there can’t be special exceptions. If there are, it opens the door for others.” While LIV Golf remains his current focus, DeChambeau is also thinking beyond traditional competition: “I could do YouTube golf—that would be enough for me.”
