Bryson DeChambeau on Koepka’s LIV Exit and His Own Future in the League

Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing contract talks with LIV Golf and how Brooks Koepka’s exit is shaping the conversation.

Brooks Koepka’s sudden departure from the LIV Golf League caught many off guard — including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s exit marks a turning point in the young league’s history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a loss and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future with LIV.

Bryson DeChambeau: Contract Extension Possible, But Not Guaranteed

DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but early extension talks are already underway. “Discussions are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time major champion. While he didn’t reveal specifics, he emphasized that both sides need to benefit: “It has to make sense for everyone.” The league’s development, structure, and long-term vision appear to be key factors for him. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve,” he added.

Crushers GC: A Model of Stability in LIV Golf

While other teams face instability, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC are thriving. In 2025, the team not only performed well on the course but also posted strong business results: $20 million in revenue, a positive balance sheet, and strategic growth. “We’re not expanding too fast; we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III remaining on board for 2026, DeChambeau sees his team as a proof of concept within the league — and a strong asset in his negotiations with LIV Golf.

PGA Tour Return? Only With Clear Rules

When asked about Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau was cautious. “If we’re playing by the rules, there should be no exceptions. If there are, it opens the door for others.” While LIV Golf remains his current focus, DeChambeau is already thinking beyond the fairways: “I could do YouTube golf — that would be enough for me.”
