Bryson DeChambeau on Koepka Exit and LIV Golf Contract Talks

Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing contract talks with LIV Golf and how Koepka’s departure impacts the league.

The departure of Brooks Koepka from the LIV Golf League came as a surprise to many — including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s exit marks a significant moment in the young league’s history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a loss and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future within LIV.

Bryson DeChambeau: Contract Extension Possible, But Not Guaranteed

DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but early extension talks are already underway. “The conversations are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time major champion. While he remained vague on specifics, he emphasized that both sides must benefit equally. “It has to make sense for both parties.” The league’s development, structure, and future outlook appear to be key factors for him. “I want to do this. I want to advance team golf globally. But things need to improve for that to happen.”

Crushers GC: A Model of Stability in LIV Golf

While other teams face uncertainty, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. In 2025, the team not only performed well on the course but also achieved strong financial results: $20 million in revenue, a positive balance sheet, and a strategic growth plan. “We’re not expanding too fast; we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III remaining on the roster through 2026, DeChambeau sees this continuity as proof of a successful model — one that also strengthens his negotiating position with LIV Golf.

PGA Tour Return? Only With Clear Rules

On the topic of Koepka potentially returning to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau is cautious. “If we’re playing by the rules, there should be no exceptions. If there are, it opens the door for others.” While LIV Golf remains his current focus, DeChambeau is already thinking beyond traditional competition: “I could do YouTube golf — that would be enough for me.”
