Bryson DeChambeau on Koepka’s Exit and His LIV Golf Future

Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing contract talks with LIV Golf and how Koepka’s departure is influencing negotiations.

Brooks Koepka’s departure from the LIV Golf League came as a surprise to many — including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s exit marks a notable shift in the young league’s history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a disruption and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future with LIV.

Bryson DeChambeau: Contract Extension Still Uncertain

DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but early extension talks are already underway. “Discussions are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time major champion. He didn’t reveal specifics but emphasized that both sides must find mutual value. “It has to make sense for both parties.” The league’s development, structure, and long-term vision appear to be key factors for him. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve for that to happen.”

Crushers GC: A Model of LIV Golf Success

While other teams face instability, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. In 2025, they not only performed well on the course but also posted strong business results: $20 million in revenue and a positive balance sheet. “We’re not expanding too fast; we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III returning, the team’s core remains intact for 2026. DeChambeau sees this stability as proof of a successful model — one that strengthens his negotiating position with LIV Golf.

PGA Tour Return? Only With Clear Rules

Regarding Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau is cautious. “If we’re playing by the rules, there should be no exceptions. If there are, it opens the door for others.” While LIV Golf remains his focus, DeChambeau is open to other paths: “I could do YouTube golf — that would be enough for me.”
