Bryson DeChambeau on Koepka Exit and His LIV Golf Future

Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing LIV Golf contract and how Koepka’s departure impacts future negotiations.

Brooks Koepka’s exit from the LIV Golf League came as a surprise to many—including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23rd,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s departure marks a turning point in the league’s young history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a setback and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future with LIV.

Bryson DeChambeau: Contract Extension Possible but Not Guaranteed

DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but early extension talks are already underway. “Discussions are ongoing. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time Major champion. While he didn’t reveal specifics, he emphasized that both sides must benefit: “It has to make sense for both parties.” The league’s development, structure, and long-term vision are key factors for him. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things need to improve,” he added.

Crushers GC: A Model of Stability Within LIV

While other teams face instability, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC are thriving. In 2025, they not only performed well on the course but also posted strong financials: $20 million in revenue and a positive balance sheet. “We’re not expanding too fast; we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III returning for 2026, the team’s core remains intact. DeChambeau sees this as proof that his model works—and it strengthens his negotiating position with LIV Golf.

PGA Tour Return? Only With Clear Rules

On the topic of Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau was cautious. “If rules are in place, there should be no exceptions. Otherwise, it opens the door for others,” he said. While LIV Golf remains his focus, DeChambeau is already thinking beyond traditional competition: “I could do YouTube golf—that would be enough for me.”
