Bryson DeChambeau discusses his ongoing LIV Golf contract and how Brooks Koepka’s departure impacts future talks.
Brooks Koepka’s exit from the LIV Golf League came as a surprise to many—including Bryson DeChambeau. “I didn’t have that on my bingo card for December 23,” he told Flushing It Golf. Koepka’s departure marks a significant moment in the young league’s history. For DeChambeau, it’s both a disruption and an opportunity: “When one door closes, another opens. That’s how I see it.” As Koepka steps away, DeChambeau reflects on his own role and future within LIV.
Bryson DeChambeau: Contract Talks Ongoing, Future Uncertain
DeChambeau’s current contract runs through the end of 2026, but discussions about an early extension are already underway. “Talks are happening. It’s confidential, but we’re working on it,” said the two-time major champion. While he didn’t reveal specifics, he emphasized that both sides must benefit: “It has to make sense for everyone.” For DeChambeau, the league’s development, structure, and long-term vision are key. “I want to do this. I want to grow team golf globally. But things have to improve,” he added.
Crushers GC: A Model of Stability in LIV Golf
While other teams face turbulence, DeChambeau’s Crushers GC is thriving. On and off the course, the team has found success—generating $20 million in revenue and maintaining a positive balance sheet. “We’re not expanding too fast; we’re staying efficient,” he explained. With Paul Casey, Anirban Lahiri, and Charles Howell III remaining on the roster for 2026, DeChambeau sees his team as a working model within LIV. This success also strengthens his negotiating position with the league.
PGA Tour Return? Only With Clear Rules
When asked about Koepka’s potential return to the PGA Tour, DeChambeau was cautious. “If we play by the rules, there should be no exceptions. If there are, it opens the door for others,” he said. While LIV Golf remains his focus, DeChambeau hinted at broader ambitions: “I could do YouTube golf—that would be enough for me.”
