Brooks Koepka leaves LIV Golf after four seasons

After weeks of speculation, it’s official: Brooks Koepka is parting ways with the LIV Golf League after four seasons.

The rumors had been swirling for weeks, and now it’s confirmed: Brooks Koepka will no longer be part of the LIV Golf League. The five-time Major champion had been a key figure in the league since 2022, securing five wins, leading Smash GC as captain, and making numerous high-profile appearances. His time with LIV Golf now ends earlier than initially expected.

Brooks Koepka departs LIV Golf League

According to both parties, the decision was mutual. LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil confirmed that they agreed to end the partnership after the 2025 season. Koepka stated he wants to spend more time with his family, especially his wife Jena and son Crew. The 35-year-old expressed gratitude to league leadership, teammates, and fans.

New roles and open questions

Koepka’s contract with LIV Golf was originally set to run through 2026, making this an early exit. His departure prompted a quick reshuffle within Smash GC. Talor Gooch will take over as team captain, supported by Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell. One team spot remains open for the upcoming season.

Koepka becomes the first Major champion to leave the league since its inception. His future path is somewhat outlined but lacks specifics: after his final LIV Golf appearance in August 2025, a suspension period for the PGA Tour will apply. He remains eligible for the DP World Tour and all four Major championships. However, he has not yet announced a concrete tournament schedule, leaving fans wondering when and where he will compete next.
