After weeks of speculation, it’s official: Brooks Koepka is parting ways with the LIV Golf League after four seasons.
The rumors had been circulating for weeks, and now it’s confirmed: Brooks Koepka will no longer be part of the LIV Golf League. The five-time Major champion had been a key figure in the league since 2022, racking up five wins, serving as captain of Smash GC, and making numerous high-profile appearances. His time with LIV Golf is ending earlier than originally planned.

According to both parties, the decision was mutual. LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil confirmed that they agreed to end their collaboration after the 2025 season. Koepka stated that he wants to spend more time with his family, especially his wife Jena and son Crew. The 35-year-old expressed gratitude to the league leadership, his teammates, and fans.

Team changes and future plans
Koepka’s contract with LIV Golf was originally set to run through 2026, making his departure a year early. This prompted a quick restructuring within his team. Talor Gooch will take over as captain of Smash GC, supported by Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell. One team spot remains open for the upcoming season.
Koepka becomes the first Major winner to leave the league since its inception. His next steps are outlined but not yet confirmed: following his final LIV Golf appearance in August 2025, a suspension period for the PGA Tour will apply. He remains eligible for the DP World Tour and all four Major championships. However, he has not announced any specific tournament plans, leaving fans guessing when and where he will tee it up next.
