Starting January 2026, MagentaTV will broadcast PGA, DP World, and Champions Tour events. Majors remain with Sky.
Golf fans in Germany will have a new home for live coverage starting in 2026. Telekom has secured the broadcasting rights for the PGA Tour, DP World Tour, and Champions Tour through its MagentaTV platform. The deal runs through 2029 and includes 131 tournaments in the first year alone. Additionally, MagentaTV will air the Ryder Cup in 2027 and 2029. However, Sky retains the rights to broadcast all men’s and women’s major championships.
300 Days of Live Golf on MagentaTV
The new rights package includes approximately 300 days of live golf annually across two newly launched channels—MS Golf 1 and MS Golf 2—available on MagentaTV starting January 2026. MS Golf 1 will broadcast full tournament coverage, while MS Golf 2 will feature highlights, player features, and historical content. The programming kicks off on January 15 with the Sony Open in Hawaii and the Dubai Invitational. All content will be included at no extra cost for MagentaTV and MagentaSport subscribers.
“Golf has found a new home on MagentaTV. With this package, we’re offering Germany’s most comprehensive live golf coverage ever. From the first tee shots to the final putts, we’ll present every tournament like never before—live, informative, and in a modern format,” said Arnim Butzen, Telekom’s Head of TV.
Sky Retains the Majors
Despite losing a significant portion of its golf portfolio, Sky will continue to broadcast all major championships in the coming years. This includes the four men’s majors, the Solheim Cup, and all five women’s majors, ensuring that Sky remains a key player in golf broadcasting. Golf fans wanting full coverage will need subscriptions to both MagentaTV and Sky.
